Winter or summer, dog-friendly Lakewood Lodge on Kent Pond, is the perfect location for a wonderful vacation with family and friends. Located minutes from the Killington Access Road, Lakewood Lodge is just a mile down Route 100N from Route 4. You have the choice of going to the Killington Base Lodge (5 miles), to the Skyeship Gondola (6 miles), or just a few minutes west to Pico Peak (3 miles). Even though it's so close to everything, Lakewood Lodge is a tranquil retreat in a very secluded setting. While this property welcomes pets, we do charge an additional $150.00 per pet. (please note this unit has NO AIR CONDITIONING)
There are several living areas so everyone can enjoy their own space. The Great Room has a spectacular fieldstone fireplace which is the perfect gathering place to enjoy everyone's company. The second floor has three bedrooms, one with a queen, one with a double, and one with two double beds. Central to the second floor is a family room with a queen-sized sofa bed and another TV.
The third floor is a large Master suite with a king-size bed, en-suite bath, and serene sitting room with the finest views in the house of Kent Pond and Pico Peak. With its additional queen-plus sleep sofa the Master suite can sleep an entire family of four! The house easily accommodates up to ten people.
A glass door leads from the Great Room to an expansive bluestone patio with a seven-person hot tub and a luxurious outdoor living room facing a magnificent fireplace of boulders and stones. A great place to relax and enjoy the pond view.
An attached two-car garage provides direct access to the large mudroom/entry with a long bench and tile floor. In addition, the garage has a 240V outlet for electric car charging.
During warmer weather, follow a well-marked path just 300 feet to your own waterfront where you can launch kayaks, canoes, or paddle-boards to spend a bucolic day on Kent Pond fishing or just listening to loons and watching beavers at work. Paddle across the pond to a splendid waterfall and swimming hole on the Appalachian Trail which passes just half a mile from Lakewood Lodge along the south shore of the pond and crosses Vermont's Long Trail a few miles down the road. Hiking the AT west a bit will reward you with the spectacular overlook of Deer Leap, or walk east to breathtaking Thundering Brook Falls. Miles of newly-cut mountain biking trails are also directly accessible by taking Rt 100N about .5 miles from the house.
The Green Mountains have so many activities for the outdoor enthusiast. You can go tubing on the White River or up to Killington Resort which has an ever-growing network of mountain biking trails for all abilities. The Adventure Center there has zip lines, an obstacle course, a free-fall jump tower and more for your daredevils.
Vermont's best public golf course, Green Mountain National Golf Course, is only one mile from Lakewood Lodge, and the very challenging Killington Golf Course is just up the Access Road.
History buffs can enjoy Revolutionary battlefields or a trip to The Calvin Coolidge Homestead and Library in Plymouth, just 15 minutes from Killington. Woodstock, the quintessential Vermont town, is home to the Billings Farm and Museum and the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park.
Year round, Lakewood Lodge has so much for the whole family! You won't want to leave?
