Deer Leap Trail follows the Appalachian Trail and Long Trail before branching off to a viewpoint looking back toward Pico and Killington Peak. It’s a moderate climb with a big payoff view and a good middle ground to find incredible vistas without a full mountain climb. Dogs should be kept on a leash while hiking this trail, and owners should be mindful of dropoffs towards the top.
Killington Peak (via Bucklin Trail) is a real challenge at 7.4 miles round-trip and 2,470 feet of elevation gain. This is a serious hike that climbs the west face of Killington Peak and rewards you with panoramic views across three states.
