There’s simply no place in Killington quite like Hathaway Farm. This attraction is a third-generation family farm that has been under the ownership of the family since 1942. In addition to being a fun source of entertainment for visitors from near and far, Hathaway Farms is known for raising beef cows and producing some of the finest maple syrup in all of Vermont.

The Corn Maze
Perhaps the most well-loved attraction at Hathaway Farm is the corn maze. In fact, this corn maze was recently named as the #2 corn maze for families in the country by Kidventurous! This exciting maze is truly a challenge, covering more than 13 acres of land! Spend your evening exploring the corn maze and trying to work your way through to the end. If you need a map to help you out, you can access one right on their GPS map.
Throughout the maze, you’ll find Theme Clues that can help you navigate your way out. For 2021, the theme is VT Superheroes, which focuses on the popular superheroes you know and love as well as the local heroes who have helped the state navigate the coronavirus pandemic. In addition to the Theme Clues, you can also make your way to find the eight Punches scattered throughout the maze.
Not quite sure that you can handle a 13-acre maze? Have smaller kids who don’t have the patience or stamina to work their way through it? Not to worry. Hathaway Farm also has a fun Mini Maze! This attraction offers a much shorter challenge without sacrificing any of the excitement of the original. Find five Finger Stations throughout the maze that will leave your hand full of beautiful colors, and follow the Story Walk that will tell you a thrilling tale while you head toward the end.
Other Things to Do at the Farm
While the corn maze is by far one of the most popular things to do in Killington, it’s definitely not the only thing for you to do here at Hathaway Farm! There are tons of other fun activities to keep you and your family occupied.
First things first, you’ll want to head to the Livestock Barn, especially if you’ve got a nature or animal lover in your group. You can come here to simply see the animals or teach your little ones about all the different creatures on a farm. From cows and donkeys to sheep, bunnies, pigs, and more, Hathaway Farms has all kinds of fascinating animals to check out!
There’s also an awesome Farm Store on the premises where you can purchase some of the delicious goods that Hathaway Farms produces. They sell their mouthwatering maple syrup all year long, perfect for topping your pancakes and waffles. If you’re an artsy person, you can pick up some yarn from their Babydoll Southdown sheep! Other items in stock are constantly changing, so you never know what goodies you’ll find!
Hours and Rates
Interested in making the Hathaway Farm and Corn Maze one of the Killington summer activities on your itinerary? You can come pay a visit every day except Tuesday. Sunday through Monday and Wednesday through Friday, the facilities are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the corn maze closing by 6 p.m. On Saturday, they have extended hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the corn maze closing by 11 p.m. In 2021, the farm will be open until Sunday, October 31.
The Hathaway Farm and Corn Maze is one of the most affordable activities in the area, perfect for families who need to keep their budget in mind. For children three and under, admission is free. Children 4-11 cost $12 to get in, while adults (12 and over) cost $15 per person. Seniors (65 and over) cost $10. If you have a military member in your group, they’re eligible for a $2 discount with their military ID.
Location and Directions
The Hathaway Farm and Corn Maze is located at 741 Prospect Hill Road in Rutland, about a 20-minute drive from the town of Killington. Luckily, the trip to this attraction is quick and easy! In Killington, you’ll start out by heading south on River Road Fork toward Quimby Mountain Road. Take a slight right to stay on River Road Fork, then turn right onto US-4 W.
After 8.9 miles, turn right onto Meadow Lake Drive, which you’ll stay on for 1.7 miles. Then, turn left onto Chittenden Road, then continue onto East Pittsford Road. After 2.2 miles, you’ll turn right onto Prospect Hill Road, and after 0.3 miles, you’ll see Hathaway Farm come into view on your right!
